The Board elected Wes Policky President, and Tim Benson Vice President for the upcoming school year.

Additionally, Joni Rees was reappointed to serve as the Board’s secretary and treasurer, Guthrie County State Bank and People’s Trust & Savings Bank are the district’s designated depositories, and the Board will continue to meet on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. inside of the AC/GC High School library media center.

High School Principal Shane Arp and Superintendent Steve Smith gave an update on the whole-grade sharing agreement with Adair-Casey. Arp says they’re continuing to build a positive culture of continuous improvement for students and faculty in the high school, adding that students from the two school districts are getting along together well, and quickly becoming friends. Superintendent Smith says one of the only issues early in the whole-grade sharing agreement that they continue to work to improve, is shuttles between Guthrie Center and Adair-Casey often leaving later than designated times, after sports and activities practices end in the evening.
