It’s Homecoming for the Greene County High School football team, a night when the Rams traditionally play well. Coach Dean Lansman is optimistic and hopeful that tonight is the night his team gets its first victory of the season. The Rams (0-4, 0-2) host Iowa Falls-Alden (2-2, 0-2) in a Class 3A District 2 contest at 7:30 p.m. at Linduska Field in Jefferson.
“They’re ready, they’re hungry. I think you could see that after last Friday (a 49-6 loss in Webster City). Some of them took that really hard. We’re excited to play our Homecoming game!”
The coach added he talked to the seniors on the team about this being their last Homecoming game, and the fact there could be as few as five games left in their high school football careers. “You’ve got to write your own story, and it starts with Homecoming. To me, that’s one of the games that you’ll always look back and remember what happened.”
The game can be heard on KG98 and streamed “live” on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 6:30 p.m.
