The Raccoon River Valley ended up receiving above normal rainfall totals throughout the month of August.

According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie Center received around 6.9 inches of rain, or over 2.5 inches more than normal last month. This includes almost 1.25 inches last week alone.

Perry received just 0.11 inch of rain last week for a total of 6.3 inches in August, or 2.7 inches more than the normal amount.

There is no precipitation in the short term forecast.
