The Raccoon Valley Radio Severe Weather Action Team broke into regular programming Wednesday when a thunderstorm rolled into our coverage area.

A severe thunderstorm warning was issued at 5:06pm for northeastern Dallas County.  The primary threat with the storm was up to 60 mile per hour wind gusts along with torrential rainfall.  The warning was allowed to expire at 5:30pm.

Four Raccoon Valley Radio staff members helped provide the live, up to the minute coverage and we were in touch with the WeatherEye Weather Center and Dallas County Emergency Management Coordinator Barry Halling.

Additionally, a flash flood warning followed the storm as more than three inches of rain fell over the area.

As always, you can count on the Raccoon Valley Radio network to provide coverage anytime severe weather strikes Dallas, Greene or Guthrie counties.
