Sixteen new teachers are spending the first half of this week at school in preparation for classes to resume in the Perry School District later this month.
Superintendent Lynn Ubben says this is the District’s first year being part of the Teacher Leadership and Compensation system as they waited to see how it worked for other districts before submitting their proposal.
“Our instructional coaches and (Teaching and Learning Director) Kevin (Vidergar) and Shannon (Cline) who is our TLC leader went to Fairfield for two days and had some great training with other instructional coaches from around the state and have set up some in-service for the new teachers. They’re there now, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. They also have set up some mentoring. Wednesday of next week we will start with all of our teachers and staff.”
The first day of class for Perry Schools is Wednesday, August 24th. We’ll wrap up our conversation with Ubben on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County.
