Though the daytime activities at the Adel Sweet Corn Festival this weekend are all family friendly, once the sun goes down it turns into an adult celebration.

A street party will take place downtown starting at 6pm. Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Director Deb Bengston says the live entertainment starts with Doug James and the Pocket.

“They’re out of Chicago and they’re a fantastic band.  Doug graduated from (Adel DeSoto Minburn High School) so it’s going to be fun to have him back and performing.  And then 9pm to midnight is Gimmick.  Lots of cold beer and hard lemonade, and just a good time in the evening.”

There’s no cost to attend and everyone age 21 and over is welcome to attend.
