The Perry Cruuze will return for it’s second event next month, this time as a stand alone event.
The inaugural Cruuze took place last summer and attracted dozens of vehicles. This year the Perry Chamber Board has opted to focus on this event alone in August, rather than holding it in conjunction with a Friday Fest.
Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson says they’re hoping for more than 100 cars this year and several community members are coming together to help.
“DJ Pat Graney will be down in the Josh Davis Plaza area spinning some tunes as well as working as kind of an announcer. Jim VonBehren with DMACC is going to make custom awards for us. It’s just a great promotion, lots of people are into this. (Even) if you’re not into cars, come downtown, there’s going to be a lot of great opportunities for local vendors and restaurants as well. It’s just a nice way to promote not only the town but the community to people from outside of town.”
The event starts around 6pm on Friday, August 5th in downtown Perry.
