Perry residents are encouraged to rid their homes, garages and sheds of hazardous materials this weekend free of charge.

The City of Perry is hosting a collection event today in the public safety building parking lot at 908 Willis Avenue until noon.

A variety of items will be accepted including aerosol cleaners, rechargeable batteries, paints, oils and adhesives.  However, electronics, appliances, ammunition, latex paint, medications and radioactive materials will not be accepted.
