Classes for the 2016-17 school year don’t start for a few weeks but the new head of St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Perry has been preparing since classes ended in May.
Eddie Diaz says he hasn’t had much of a summer break yet but so far, it hasn’t felt like work either.
“I’m fortunate that I have a lot of support from Doug Latham, my predecessor, I worked with him throughout the month of June and part of May. We’ve hired a few staff members, we’re doing some building maintenance and calling parents. I’ve been calling parents just to introduce myself, see if I can do anything for them and just getting to know a lot of people from staff members to community members to parish members. Just people that are invested in our school, trying to get them to understand where I’m coming from and build relationships with them.”
We’ll have more with Diaz on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours on KDLS, RaccoonValleyRadio.com and via our mobile apps.
