A Carroll man was arrested after allegedly burglarizing the Bayard Sparky’s One Stop convenience store Tuesday.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says store employees knew something was amiss after discovering several broken ceiling tiles, as if someone had been in the ceiling.
Surveillance footage and an investigation determined that Carey Lee Huffman entered the store at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and entered the bathroom, where he climbed up through the false ceiling, and hid until the store closed, before allegedly taking beer from the store.
A search warrant was later executed at a residence in Bayard where Huffman was staying. He was arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary and 2nd degree criminal mischief.
