Representatives from the City of Perry, Tyson Fresh Meats, Spring Lake Construction, Bolton and Menk and DMACC all gathered in Pattee Park Wednesday to break ground on the expansion project.
“What’s great about this is just when you start talking about the donations, and when you look at it it is a city project but obviously it’s in conjunction with the private sector and that’s how great things happen in Perry. Tyson (Fresh Meats who contributed $100,000 to the project) is a great corporate citizen. They got this thing off and rolling with a substantial donation, so special thanks to them and all of those who gave to this project.”
That’s Perry Mayor Jay Pattee who says it’s going to be exciting to watch this project move forward and there’s already talk about hosting soccer tournaments in the upcoming years. He adds that there are great things happening in Perry and this project is part of it.
Construction on the roughly $450,000 project is expected to be completed this fall.
