The number of people that get out and vote on election day, or submit an absentee ballot, can greatly impact elections.

Voter turnout is something many candidates focus on when campaigning and the number of people who cast a ballot in Tuesday’s primary was low.

According to the Dallas County Auditor’s office, around 3,630 ballots were cast, which is equal to just 7.8 of all registered voters according to numbers from last September’s school district elections.

There are around 46,450 registered voters in Dallas County and around 1,800 voters from each party cast a ballot this week.

All election results are considered unofficial until canvassed by the county Board of Supervisors.
