The fourth farmers market will be coming up on Thursday for the Perry Chamber of Commerce, as the focus will be on the youth.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti reveals that Iowa PBS Kids is stopping by the downtown area for the second time this month with plenty of kids activities in store. She shares that youth will be able to stop by Josh Davis Plaza to pick up an age appropriate activity to complete for a chance to earn “Kids Bucks” to spend at the farmers market. Pasutti details that having Iowa PBS Kids involved for the past several years has been a great way to connect with the youth in the community.

“That’s just been a great program to bring more families down, to have it be a more engaging and educational opportunity. The library is there as well connecting with kiddos. They are familiar with a lot of kids already, and so that just helps the process move along as well.”

Pasutti illustrates that when Iowa PBS Kids came earlier this month, they served 76 youth, of which 29 of them were new this year. Additionally, many local vendors will be in attendance with fresh produce to sell. The Perry Farmers Market runs on Thursday from 4-7pm in the downtown area along 2nd Street.
