District 12 Senator Amy Sinclair
The end of the Iowa 2025 Legislative session saw lots of bills get passed by both the House and Senate, but others went by the wayside.
Senator for District 12 Amy Sinclair says that even though some bills she was hoping to get through the Senate this session, there is an opportunity for them to be brought back in some way during the 2026 Legislative session. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio one of the big things she’d like to bring back next session.
“Honestly, I would like to see us do a better job on property rights improvements related to utilities moving forward. I just don’t think the bill that was passed out of the legislature will actually have the results that folks want. And so I would like to come up with something that actually gets at the underlying cause.”
Sinclair mentions that another bill she’d like to revisit is one she authored which would allow for a Gadsden Flag option when residents get their license plate, along with another bill that she sponsored to help crack down on drivers staying in the left lane of multi-lane highways for too long are both ones she would like to try and get to the governor’s desk next session.
