With National Teacher Appreciation Week coming to an end, the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Community School District has been showing love to their staff members.

According to Middle School Principal Kim Timmerman, families have been donating food items and money for the school to use in order to create special themes each day. She reveals that teachers were given nachos on Monday, there was a popcorn bar on Tuesday, then on Wednesday was chips and dip, Thursday saw Superintendent Greg Dufoe and Assistant Superintendent Travis Wilkins give teachers a candy bar and pop, then today ends the week with serving pizza, salads and a dessert to the teachers. Timmerman, who’s been the middle school principal for 23 years, highlights that the staff makes her job extremely easy.

“The teachers are what has kept me here. I have been so blessed to be here for a long time, where I’ve been able to hire pretty much my entire staff, so they’re like a family. We have the absolute best middle school teachers. They have fun, they collaborate, and they just absolutely get middle school kids. I’m just so grateful for them and definitely we wouldn’t be ADM Middle School without each of them, so they’re pretty special.”

Timmerman emphasizes that she hopes all the staff within the ADM School District know how crucial they are to the community and feel some extra love this week.
