The Friends of the Guthrie Center Library are getting ready for their annual golf fundraiser next month.
Mary J Barnett Memorial Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that the Friends are looking for more teams to join up, and enjoy the fun event that they have planned. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what they are fundraising for this year.
“So the proceeds for this fundraiser this year is going towards a new water fountain in the library. Our current water fountain has a broken handle and is showing some age with a couple little small leaks. So we are looking to raise funds to replace that water fountain. And that is what the proceeds of the golf tournament will be paying for this year.”
Hawkins mentions that the tournament is in a four person best ball format, and that those looking to participate will need to do so as a team, with registration costing $60 per person. She adds that this covers their entrance in the tournament, the use of a cart and lunch. Individuals and businesses can become sponsors for the event for $100. Anyone looking to either participate or sponsor can do so by calling the library at 641-747-8110 during their regular hours, or by calling Rod Robson at 641-757-1409.
