Perry High School hosted a ceremony recently to honor 7 seniors continuing their academic and athletic careers.

Between the 7 student athletes, 5 sports were acknowledged. Owen Myers will play baseball at Mount Mercy University. Quin Mahler-Moreno will swim for University of South Dakota. Amy Diaz and Jonatan Banuelos will both play soccer in college. Diaz at Clarke University and Banuelos at Universities of Dubuque. Julie Maylum and Ben Kusar will each wrestle at the next level. Maylum at Wartburg College and Kusar with Triton College. Taryn Nehring will continue her track career with Grandview College.

Mahler-Moreno owns multiple school records and is coming off a tremendous senior year at the State Tournament. Maylum and Kusar each qualified for their respective wrestling tournaments. Nehring, Diaz, and Banuelos are all currently competing in their Spring sports. Baseball season begins in a month for Owen Myers.
