A special event is happening tonight at a local school in the Perry community.

St. Patrick’s Catholic School, 1302 5th Street, will be holding the 4th Annual Gala and Auction tonight in the gymnasium, beginning at 5pm. According to Principal Kandice Patillo, the event is an opportunity for people to come together and bid on items that will make for great summer plans. She reveals several cool prizes that have been auctioned off in the past.

“There’s been different vacations and trips to Kansas City (Missouri), there’s different stuff out to Omaha (Nebraska), we’ve had some stuff up to the Minnesota State Fair, we’ve auctioned off stuff from boat rides in Okoboji, to a Gilded Night, (and) there were Yard Janga games auctioned off last year. My husband and I took home a ride-on dump truck for our little kid to have.”

Patillo mentions that the dinner will be served at 6pm and the event is targeted towards adults over the age of 21 with tickets for $40 each, which can be purchased at the door.
