
Webster City was a 7-2 winner over the Greene County High School girls’ soccer team on Friday at Linduska Field in Jefferson. The Lynx improved to 2-6-1 while the Rams are 0-8.
The Rams were within 3-2 late in the first half when WC scored with just 23 seconds remaining before intermission. That put the Lynx up 4-2, then three more second half goals put the gamesafely into the win column for the visiting team.
Sophomore Amelia Gallagher scored both goals for the Rams and they were the first varsity goals for her. Prior to Friday, the Rams had not scored more than one goal this season in any match, and they now have five goals for the season, one more than all of last season.
Coach Anderson told Raccoon Valley Radio senior Rand Linberg and junior Leah Mc Cormick had the assists. Lucy Vander Linden hsa 12 saves in goal. “It was great to see them having more fun with playing aggressive, well-matched, competitive soccer.”
