When Greene County High School senior Isaac Carman qualified for the Drake Relays in the discus throw he did so with the 23rd best throw among the 24 throwers. At Friday’s competition he moved up the ranks to eighteenth with a best toss of 144 feet, 2-1/2″ on a cloudy 50 degree morning.
While not among the top throwers in the field, he gained the experience of throwing for the first time during the Drake Relays. Friday’s competition was also the second time he’s thrown at Drake, adding to the 2024 Class 2A State Meet, where he finished in tenth place.
The boys’ discus was the only event the Rams qualified for the Drake Relays this year.
