Those who enjoy musicals should make their way to Guthrie Center this weekend.

The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School Drama department will be putting on two showings of “The Sound of Music,” based off the film of the same name which was derived from the journal of a nun hired to be a governess of an Austrian family’s children shortly before World War II. Vocal Director Kelsey Dinkla says that there will be a Children’s Choir made up of youths who auditioned as the Von Trapp children in the play that will perform 15 minutes before each showing. Tickets are available at the door for $8 for adults and $5 for students. The two remaining showings are tonight at 7pm and tomorrow at 2pm.
