A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Adair and Guthrie Counties Thursday evening.

The warning took effect at 7:15pm, and lasted until 8pm. At 7:20pm, Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeremy Cooper shared that there was a hail cell heading towards Guthrie center with the possibility of one inch diameter hail, and that a pocket of hail was north of Stuart in the Dale City area. He later reported that he was following the wall cloud, or the back side of the storm, and could see broad, slow rotation, but that it wasn’t tightening up or picking up power. The center of the storm was north of Highway 144 between Guthrie Center and the Guthrie County Municipal Airport, and he had seen pea sized hail. The severe thunderstorm warning expired at 8pm for both Guthrie and Adair Counties.
