Dallas County and other Iowa residents are welcome to stop by the Dallas County Fairgrounds tomorrow for the Sheep and Goat Weigh-In.

According to Dallas County ISU Extension Agriculture Program Coordinator Aleta Cochran, the Dallas County Fairgrounds, 28057 Fairground Road, in Adel will be available to any 4-H’ers and FFA members who are planning to show either sheep or goats at a county fair or the Iowa State Fair this year. She reveals that the members do not have to reside in Dallas County, and that market animals will need to be weighed and tagged, while breeding animals must have a tag or tattoo.

Cochran mentions that any sheep or goat that are planned to be shown at the state fair are also mandated to have a retinal scan. The Sheep and Goat Weigh-In takes place tomorrow from 8-11am.
