A non-profit organization in Guthrie County recently decided their first recipient of the year for a large sum donation to be made to.

Ten Squared Plus Men of Guthrie County Founder Barry Monaghan says that there were four very well presented causes, but the organization selected to donate close to $20,000 to the Meals on Wheels program in Guthrie Center and Panora. Monaghan points out that Dennis Flanery shared that because of the recent federal cuts to the national program had resulted in nearly $20,000 reduction in their own localized program that they were usually able to depend upon are no longer available. Monaghan says they were happy to equal that deficit with their total amount of donations given.

Monaghan explains that members of the group can make their donations by either visiting either of the Guthrie County State Bank locations, or by sending the money through Venmo to Monaghan, and his Venmo can be found in this story online. Checks need to be made out to Guthrie County Hospital Foundation so that the foundation’s 501C3 tax exempt status can be used.
