Trevon Keely high jumping April 11 in Jefferson
High school events a the Drake Relays in Des Moines begin this afternoon and Paton-Churdan sophomore Trevon Keely will be one of 24 competing in the boys’ high jump. The action will take place at Drake Stadium, although there’s a possibility the action could be moved inside the Drake Field House if rain prompts officials to do so.
Keely met the Blue Standard (automatic qualifying standard) of 6′ 7″ last month en route to winning the Class 1A State title at the Iowa Association of Track Coaches Indoor State Championships on the Iowa State University Campus in Ames. He’s believed to be one of the few P-C athletes to to take part in the high school boys’ high jump at a Drake Relays.
There’s other track and field on the schedule today, weather permitting. Greene County sends its girls and boys to Carroll Athletic Field for the Tiger Coed Relays.
