Raccoon Valley Radio enacted their Severe Weather Action Team coverage Wednesday night.

RVR team members hit the air on KKRF 107.9FM at 6:05pm, as a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for Adair and Guthrie Counties until 7:32pm. Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeremy Cooper shared that around 6:30pm, there was ping pong ball sized hail at the intersection of Highway 44 and Cherry Avenue, west of Guthrie Center. He also reported encountering smaller sized hail on Highway 25, south of Guthrie Center, that was about nickel-sized hail, along with 50-60 mph winds.

Additionally, there was lots of rainfall and some strong wind gusts throughout the storm. There were five RVR staff members, along with Cooper and Weatherology Metrologists that provided coverage during the warning.
