
Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center High School FFA Members took part in the State FFA Convention from April 13-15th.
Chapter Reporter Lilah Heinz says that 38 members attended and participated in multiple events and competitions. Garrett Lemke, Carter Richter and Jack Sheeder took part in poultry evaluation and received a bronze rating, with Irelyn Wirt, Meranda Gruber, Gracie Hodges and Ava Sneller participating in the Farm Business Management contest, securing a silver rating.
Heinz mentions that there were two members who took the Greenhand Knowledge Quiz, with Stetson Ellis receiving a gold rating and Hudson Gilland receiving silver. Two middle school student members were able to participate in the Discovery Quiz, where Aaron Langgaard grabbed a gold rating with his top ten finish, and Carrie Downing secured a bronze rating. Belle Fagan, Shay Lemke and Camdyn Richter participated in the Chapter Exhibit, and were also able to receive a gold rating, while the final contest that the chapter competed in was Marketing Plan, where Lucy Knutter, Heinz and Rylee Robson took 3rd place overall with their gold rating, the highest placement in the chapter’s history.
Besides the contests that chapter members participated in, Heinz lists several accomplishments that members were recognized for, including Brexton Schneider’s state runner up Beef Production Placement proficiency application, Heinz taking the Southwest District Rising Start Finalist. Fagan accepted a bronze rating in the National Chapter Award, and on behalf of the chapter Richter received the Ambassador Award.
