Greene County hosts the 2025 Ram Coed Relays high school track & field meet in Jefferson at Linduska Field starting at 4:30 p.m. today. Eight girls’s teams and seven for boys will be competing. The Rams will be joined by the Fort Dodge Senior High girls, along with girls and boys’ squads from Perry, ACGC, Boone, Carroll High, Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), and East Sac County (Lake View),

An extra feature of the Rams Relays is that each individual winner receives a t-shirt and gets their photo taken. In addition, certain events at today’s meet are named after former track & field standouts from Jefferson, Jefferson-Scranton, Greene County, and Scranton high schools. Those include the boys’ 100 meter dash (Joe Rogers, Jefferson 1930), the 4 x 200 meter relays (1931 Jefferson 880 yard relay team), 400 meter low hurdles (Brent Mac Lagan, J-S 1995), Chase Flack (J-S 2011), and 200 meter dash (Bruce Mac Donald, 1964 Scranton). Girls’ events named after former athletes include the discus throw (Kris Curnyn Hagedorn, J-S 1994), high jump (Megan Durbin, Greene County 2018), 100 meter dash (Allison Drewry, J-S 1994), 800 meter run (Rosemary Holden Hoyt, Scranton 1975).
