The Greene County Libraries Association and the Greene County Board of Supervisors are teaming up to host the 18th Annual Toddler Fest on Saturday.

Youth Services Librarian at the Jefferson Library Bailey Mount explains what Toddler Fest is and why it is important for young ones in the entire county.

“It’s an entire day dedicated to early literacy and our community partners that really work on building a strong literacy foundation for ages zero through five.”

Mount reveals who the featured icon is going to be at this year’s Toddler Fest.

“I am so excited to announce, like I’m practically giddy, we have Pete the Cat this year. And I love Pete the Cat, my kids love Pete the Cat, we recently got a Pete the Cat puppet, and now we’re going to have like a life-sized one here.”

Mount adds that there will be several activity stations for the kids to explore including the popular grocery store, along with face painting, the Jefferson Rotary Club is going to hand out free books, pizzeria, and a new farm ranch veterinarian station, among others. The event is free for those who are two to five years old and it will be held at the Greene County Community Center from 10am-noon on Saturday. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from the event also from 10am-noon.
