The Perry City Council will meet in regular session on Monday.
The council will hold a couple of special presentations including recognizing the Rotary Club’s 2024 Civil Servant of the Year and have a PerryNext Strategic Plan update. Also, the council will hold public hearings on the city’s intent to dispose of two public properties by sale as well as a separate public hearing on the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget.
Items on the agenda seeking approval include a resolution for a purchase agreement for the sale of the city owned property and a development agreement with Michael Hupp, a second development agreement with JC and JC Homes LLC, a resolution to adopt the annual budget for fiscal year 2026, a contract number for the CDBG Upper Story Housing Conversion Grant, a resolution for an agreement addendum to the General Aviation Vertical Infrastructure Contract Number, a pay application for the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements, and a pay application for the Frog Creek Restoration project.
Additional items on the agenda up for approval feature a resolution for the Insurance Administration Contracts and renewing the “Blue Choice” plan with Wellmark Iowa Governmental Health Care Plan for City of Perry employees, a resolution to renew the Group Dental and Vision Insurance, a resolution to renew The Hartford Insurance Policy for Group Term Life and Long Term Disability Benefits, a resolution to accept an application for the Iowa Economic Development Authority High Quality Jobs Program, a resolution to authorize the submission of an application for Iowa Department of Transportation Airport Funding and Certifying Eligibility requirements and a resolution to accept an addition to the Perry Fire Department roster.
The council will have first readings for an ordinance to add subsection to chapter 96 relating to building sewers and connections and chapter 116 for the airport. The meeting is open to the public and is happening Monday evening at 6pm inside the Clarion Room of the Security Bank Building, 1102 Willis Avenue, in Perry.
