A suspected murder investigation in Greenfield results in an arrest.
According to the Greenfield Police Department, at 12:45am on Saturday morning, Greenfield Police Officers responded to an alleged stabbing incident at a home in the 200 block of Northeast 4th Street in Greenfield. Investigators say a deceased individual was found in the home and then 39-year-old Yudiel Vega-Blanco was arrested without incident, and was transported to the Adair County Jail. A second victim was also found with non-life threatening injuries.
Greenfield Police have charged Vega-Blanco was a Class A Felony for first degree murder and a Class D Felony for willful injury causing bodily injury. Greenfield Police believe this was an isolated incident. Authorities are not releasing the names of the victims pending family notification.
The investigation is ongoing with assistance from the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Adair County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
