Yesterday was the last day high school performances could be submitted for Drake Relays qualification. The Greene County track and field teams did not have girls or boys meets on their schedules yesterday, but senior discus throwers Isaac Carman and Emma Ewalt were entered in competitions with neither bettering their previous season bests.

Carman went to ADM in Adel and Ewalt to Ogden for final attempts to gain entry to the field of 24 next week at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.

Carman had the best series of his career yesterday in Adel, with four throws over 150 feet, topped by 152′ 5″, the second farthest distance of his career. He won the discus competition at ADM by more than 10 feet. Carman’s 159′ 2″ from the Carroll Coed Relays on April 10 was listed as the 23rd best throw early this morning on Bound Iowa. The official qualifiers list will be released today or tomorrow.

Ewalt’s best toss at Ogden was 109 feet, two inches, and she finished in fourth place. Her season best distance of 123′ 8″ did not qualify for the 2025 Drake Relays.
