A Dallas County official is needing the assistance of people that are interested in determining the representation in an upcoming election.
Dallas County Auditor Todd Halbur is encouraging Iowans as well as non-residents to cast a vote to choose the design that will be included in the 2025 city and school elections just for the Dallas County area. He details that he wanted to find a way to teach the youth about the electoral process and did an “I Voted” Sticker Design Contest where students in sixth to eighth grades in Dallas County could create their own version for the public to wear after making their vote this November. Halbur shares that five individuals submitted their stickers and admits that it’s cool to see the variety in each one.
“We have a great youth group in Dallas County and just want to thank (them) for the participation, and it’ll be an exciting voting period at this point. We’ve got five great designs to choose from, and I hope the public votes on it.”
Halbur states that people, regardless of whether they live in Iowa or not, are eligible to vote anytime now through May 11th. He notes that once voting is closed, the winner will be notified between May 12th and the 16th. To view the designs and cast a vote, click here.
