
On Tuesday, the Paton-Churdan track & field teams were in Gowrie for the girls’ Richard Ryan Relays hosted by Southeast Valley, and in Lake City for South Central Calhoun’s Ink Wunderly Relays. Both meets were moved from Monday to Tuesday for better weather conditions.
Sophomore Trevon Keely led the way for the P-C boys with three first place finishes and one third place. Keely won the high jump at 6 feet, five inches, the 100 meter dash at 11.43 seconds, and the 400 meter dash in 53.19 seconds. He was third in the long jump at 19 feet, one-half inch. The Rockets placed fifth among seven teams with 47 points.
The P-C girls scored 15 points in Class B in Gowrie and placed last among seven teams. The highest finishes were two events placing third. Sophomore Alivya Smith was third in the discus throw at 88 feet, seven inches, and sophomore Kaliyah Minnihan placed third in the long jump at 12 feet, five and one-half inches.
Next up for both P-C teams is a short trip to Jefferson for Friday’s Greene County Early Bird Coed Relays at Linduska Field.
