
Greene County had its high school girls and boys track & field teams in Panora on Tuesday for the Kip Janvrin Coed Relays. The meet is named after the Panora-Linden graduate who was an Olympian in the decathlon in 1996.
The Rams finished in second in the boys’ team race behind ACGC. The Chargers scored 129 points with 92 for the Rams in a 13 team field. The Central Decatur (Leon) girls scored 101 points to edge Madrid by a single point. Greene County was sixth among 14 teams with 62 points.
There was one first place event for Greene County in the girls’ distance medley relay in 4:34.59 with junior Addison Gannon, junior Lila Osterson, junior Becca Anderson, and junior Kaycee Pittman. Senior discus thrower Emma Ewalt was second at 118 feet, seven inches, and senior Daniele Madsen was second in the shot put at 35 feet, 1-3/4.”
Greene County won three boys’ events including two individual running events and one field event. Junior Broc Stream won the long jump at 20′ 8-1/4″ and senior Nick Stream placed first in the 400 meter dash in 52.59 seconds. Junior Drew Wolterman won the 800 meter run in 2:03.71.
