On Tuesday night, the West Central Valley Wildcats would travel to Neola to Neola City Park for the soccer season opener against the Tri Center Trojans. The Wildcat girls would score a goal in the second half to avoid the shut out, but would fall to the Trojans 6-1. Tri-Center would take the lead in the boys match, but West Central Valley would respond with two goals to claim a 2-1 victory in their season opener.

For the Wildcat girls, senior Hope Hammond would deny the shutout as Hammond would score a goal in the 65th minute midway through the second half. For the boys, senior Alan Diaz would tie the game up at 1-1 in the 45 minute to start the second half. Garret Wolfe would give the Wildcats the final say and victory scoring a goal just minutes later in the 51st minute.

The Wildcat girls soccer team now sit at 0-1 while the boys advance to 1-0. Both Wildcat teams are in action tomorrow as they travel to Panorama High School for battle against the Panthers.
