Photo belongs to the Perry High School Vocal Music Department

Perry and Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High Schools were recently apart of a musical competition.

According to Perry Vocal Music Director Jenn Hillman, 16 students participated in 25 different events at the Iowa High School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Festival this past Saturday at Clark Community High School in Osceola. She indicates that there were 20 vocal events, where six students received Division I-ratings plus five students that got Division I-ratings in all five of the instrumental events. 

ADM Vocal Music Director Daniel Novotney adds that 11 students performed in seven events in Osceola. He illustrates that six of the seven events performed for comments only and did not receive a rating, but that Tate Truitt earned a Division I-rating in the lone event that did perform. During this contest, students compete against a rating system and not each other.
