An individual apart of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Golf Team is looking to keep the culture growing with some tips for the younger athletes.
ADM senior Mackenzee Lathrop shares that she has been getting on the course in the offseason to help get into the rhythm prior to the first meet. She credits her coach Dana Brown, emphasizing that she’s number one cheerleader by promoting a positive attitude even on a rough day. Lathrop admits that Coach Brown’s approach to the game makes going to practice worthwhile, as Lathrop tries to emulate that by giving advice to her younger teammates.
“I would say while you’re having fun, make sure you’re progressively trying to get better, using the clubs that maybe you’re not as good at. Anything that will help your game and you to have fun.”
Lathrop is one of five seniors on the team this year. The Tigers finished 28-8 overall a season ago (5-2; 3rd inside the Raccoon River Conference) as they look to build on that in 2025. The first meet is set for this coming Monday against Gilbert at the Raccoon Valley Golf Course in Adel.
