The Perry Chamber of Commerce is holding their Annual Dinner this Tuesday, as they look to recognize several members and organizations in the community.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti describes that the event allows for individuals and businesses to be celebrated for work done in the previous year as well as look ahead to the future. During the dinner, the chamber will hand out the Spirit of Perry Business of the Year Award, the Jack Finneseth Memorial Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Chamber Ambassador of the Year Award. Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she loves the aspect of the entire evening.

“(We) celebrate some successes and announce to some of our members what our plan is moving forward. And so, it’s just a fun night with a lot of different things going on with it, but the awards is definitely a main part of the program.”

Pasutti highlights that the businesses nominated include the Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Career Academy, Perry’s Academic, Cultural, and Enrichment Services (P.A.C.E.S.), and Percival Scientific. She says the volunteer nominees are Jeff Huitt, President of the Perry Economic Development; Ned Menke, President of the Perry Basketball Association; and Cathie Sucher, who works at various animal shelters. Pasutti adds that the chamber ambassador individuals are Travis Landgrebe, Cherie Welch, and Larry Vodenik.

Pasutti confirms that the dinner is taking place at La Poste in Perry on Tuesday at 5:30pm, but that registration is closed.
