The girls soccer season begins on Monday for Perry.  Ahead of their first contest, Cesar Hernandez has named two captains.  Senior Amy Diaz and junior Yamilet Gonzalez will be vocal leaders for this squad.  Diaz has started 30 games across the last two seasons for Perry.  The future Clarke University soccer player accounted for 6 points last season.  Gonzalez returns for her junior campaign after she finished tied for a team high 6 goals.  Gonzalez has received a lot of playing time as an underclassmen starting 32 games the last few years.  Both girls took on a leadership role before the season even started during open gyms.  “We had our returning senior Amy Diaz in charge of all of that and Yami so we’re super proud of them.  They had a good turnout.”

The Jayettes open the season Monday as the Des Moines Christian Lions come to Dewey Field.
