
A Perry man was recently taken into custody after allegedly abusing his significant other.
According to court documents, Perry Police Officers were called to a property in the 2800 block of 1st Avenue Thursday evening a little after 8pm. The criminal complaint states that when officers arrived on scene, they found 27-year-old Jonathan De Jesus Corado Melendrez outside with the female victim, who was trying to leave. Court documents show that an officer saw evidence on the victim that a physical altercation took place.
According to the criminal complaint, Corado Melendrez denied harming the victim to the officer and suggested that she did it to herself. He was then arrested and charged with Class D Felonies for domestic abuse assault impeding air and blood flow causing bodily injury and domestic abuse assault third or subsequent offense. Corado Melendrez is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
