The Iowa House Minority Leader will be making a trip to Jefferson later this week.

The Greene County Democratic Party is hosting Jennifer Konfrst, who has been serving as the Iowa House Minority Leader since 2021, at the Welcome Center in Jefferson on Sunday from 6-7pm. According to organizers, Konfrst will make opening statements and then there will be a question and answer session with attendees. The Greene County Democratic Central Committee Chair Susan Smith says prior to the event at 5:30pm will be a time to meet with Konfrst, and an opportunity to have a “gathering of minds, with a focus on state and local issues.”

Konfrst was elected to the House in 2018, then served as the Assistant Minority Leader from 2019-2020, and then as the Minority Whip in 2021, before becoming the Minority Leader in June of 2021. She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications, with a master’s degree in public administration from Drake University.

Sunday’s event is free and open to the public.
