In their March meeting, the Adair – Casey and Guthrie Center School Boards approved the 2025-26 master calendar.
Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that there was a public hearing before the meeting began for anyone to come and ask questions or voice concerns. With no comments made, the calendar was adopted during the regular meeting. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they may come back to the topic, as the approved start date for next school year is August 23rd, but could change depending on the rest of the 2025 Legislative Session.
“We know that there’s also a possible start date change. So we’re just going to kind of wait and see what the legislation does this session. And if there is a change, we’ll probably come back to the board and move that start date up. Currently, that law doesn’t allow us to start before that (August) 23rd. So we just want to kind of wait and see what’s going to happen there with the legislation.”
Rasmussen mentions that there weren’t any major changes from the 2024-25 calendar, but that they would be taking more early outs on Wednesdays in the new calendar. He adds that this is to help with implementing more professional development time.
