The Panorama School Board made the decision to sell some assets and purchase some new ones in their March meeting.

Panorama Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that the Board approved the sale of a 2008 and 2009 Bluebird school bus. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they did that.

“We bought a new bus here last year, (and we) just got it. And that means we need to look at what are we going to do with older buses. So we have two buses actually going out to auction (at) an auction house out of Adel.”

Huebner mentions that the Board also chose to purchase new internet access points for the buildings in the district, and will be using e-rate funds, which are discounts or subsidies from the federal government to help schools and libraries obtain affordable telecommunications, internet access and internal connections. He adds that the current ones have hit the five to six year mark for their best use, and so the new ones will provide a stronger connection, and be able to handle more traffic than the current ones.
