
The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.
The council held three separate public hearings. The first was for the city’s intent of disposal of unclaimed or abandoned property for the Perry Police Department and Mayor Dirk Cavanaugh announced that the date is set for June 13th. The second was related to a proposed ordinance amending subsection chapter 165 of the Central Heavy Industrial District (CHI) to designate parking lots for Progressive Foundry, and the third was amending subsection to chapter 23 for Planning and Zoning Commission to move from a five to seven member board.
Items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution authorizing the disposal of unclaimed property for June 13th prior to 3pm at the Perry Police Department, a resolution to set a public notice for disposal of public property by sale within the City of Perry for April 7th at the Security Bank Building at 6pm, a CDBG Upper Story Housing Conversion Grant in the amount of $113,859, and a resolution to set a public hearing on the status of funded activities for the CDBG Contract Number on April 7th at the Security Bank Building for 6pm.
Additional items on the agenda that were approved included a resolution for the fiscal year 2024 annual audit report, a resolution to update the set rate for off-duty police services to raise the rate from $45 to $65, and infrastructure costs for Minburn Communications Services to obtain internet and phone services to Parks, Maintenance and Public Works buildings totaling $11,375.
The council also passed the first readings for the ordinance amending subsection to chapter 165 for the CHI District and the ordinance amending subsection to chapter 23 for the Planning and Zoning Commission. The council will have the second and possibly the third readings at their next meeting on April 7th.
