The Iowa High School Speech Association’s State Individual Events Contest was Saturday, with All-State nominations being released March 17th.

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center had six students make the trip to Ames Saturday, with seven event entries. There were three performances that were awarded a straight Division-I Rating, with Kiera Boals and Caydence Boals in Storytelling, and Blakeyly Buttler in Reviewing. On March 17th, the All-State Festival nominations were released, and Caydence Boals was chosen to perform her Storytelling piece at the University of Northern Iowa on March 31st. Speech Coach Jessica Fridley had this to say about Caydence.

“Caydence, she’s a junior. She had the best performance I had ever seen out of her and she really, really went for it with her Storytelling.”

For their other ratings, Lilah Heinz received a split Division-I Rating in Storytelling and Literary Program, with Megan Underwood also receiving a split Division-I Rating. Allison Drake received a split Division-II Rating for her Acting event.
