The development of the new high school for the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District is moving along, as Superintendent Greg Dufoe highlights the next steps in the process.

Dufoe explains that there was a public meeting on February 13th to open bids for the construction, where six companies submitted their estimates in order to work on the building that will be positioned on the south side of Adel in a couple of years. He details that during the school board meeting on March 10th, the board agreed to accept the bid from Stahl Construction, out of Grimes, in the amount of $54,650,000. Dufoe is happy with the choice that the board made.

“We’re very excited. We’re right on schedule and we’ve heard nothing but great things about Stahl Construction and we’re just really pleased to have them be our general contractor for this obviously major construction project for ADM Schools.”

Dufoe says that now that Stahl Construction is the official contractor, they plan to begin work this April or May with the target completion date in June of 2027.
