The Adel Public Library is bringing a literature series to life tomorrow with a full day of events related to it.
According to Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz, the library is honoring the original “Wild Robot” book by author and illustrator Peter Brown that was released back in 2016. She welcomes youth through adults to celebrate the nine year anniversary of the book and the six month mark of the animated movie that came out in September of 2024. Schwarz mentions that the library will be showing the movie at 2pm, which is open to anyone and then an escape room is happening beforehand at 10am for children in second grade through adults. She adds that there will be more in store during the day.
“We’ll have a special robot scavenger hunt featuring some of our favorite robots from different kinds of media, and then in the craft room, or the fireplace room, we’ll also have ‘build your own robots’ out of recycled materials, so there’s a lot of things happening that day.”
Schwarz describes that several activities relating to the “Wild Robot” will take place from 9am-6pm tomorrow. She notes that the events are all free, but registration is required for the escape room. Any questions can be directed to the Adel Public Library at (515)-993-3512.
