The Perry Fine Arts is gearing up for their next show tomorrow as a group from the metropolitan area is coming to town.
According to Chairperson Cathy Clark, the Greater Des Moines Community Band will make an appearance in Perry for the organization’s March concert. She notes that over 100 members are featured in the band, including two from Perry, Carrie Allen and Don Parker. Clark says she knows the two ladies herself as she shares that Allen’s mother was a beautician in town and that Parker owned a flower shop. She details that the band was founded in 1987 and is hoping that lots of people fill the auditorium.
“So, I really want to encourage everybody to come because I’d like to have more people in the audience than in the band. So, we’re really excited and they are excited to come too.”
Clark outlines that the concert is open to people of all ages for free and will be taking place at the Perry Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th Street, tomorrow afternoon at 2pm.
