GCSD staff recognized at 2024 event
An annual event that supports teachers and educators within the Greene County School District is coming up rapidly and there is a new twist to the ticket prices.
The Bringing Opportunities and Optimism to Students and Teachers (BOOST) of Greene County is hosting the 8th Annual BOOST Bash on April 5th at Clover Hall on the Greene County Fairgrounds. BOOST Member Steve Karber says the extra incentive for people to purchase tickets for $30 per person will end at midnight on Friday and then tickets will increase to $35. He explains some of the reasons for the additional incentive for people to purchase their tickets before the increase is to entice more people to guarantee their spots for the event and it helps with better organization for their group as well.
Karber points out the final day to purchase a ticket or a table of eight is March 24th. He states that there is still time for an organization, a business, or an individual to be a sponsor at various levels, along with people bidding on the silent online auction that happens a few days leading up to the BOOST Bash, as other ways people can contribute. Karber reminds everyone of the goal of BOOST is to support the teachers with funds for field trips, equipment or material needs and other things that enhance a students’ learning experience.
“And the community should be very proud of the fact that they support their school system the way they do. In this day and age of less money here, there and everywhere, it’s great to see people come out and say, ‘No. Education is incredibly important to me, I want to support our teachers. It’s a great boost of morale for our teachers as well.”
Over the past seven years, BOOST has raised over $460,000. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.
